The Archieverse might be getting bigger.

Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW Television Network, revealed Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is in talks for another spinoff series. Pedowitz told Deadline he hasn't seen a script for the spinoff yet, but Agquirre-Sacasa, who is also Archie Comics' Chief Creative Officer, is "thinking long term on how to continue the Riverdale situation."

Riverdale has already spawned one spinoff on The CW with Katy Keene. Created by Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, the show took place five years after the events of Riverdale and followed the titular character as she and her friends, including Riverdale's Josie McCoy, pursued their dreams in New York City. Katy Keene was canceled after a single season last year as a result of its low ratings.

Aguirre-Sacasa also created Chilling Adventures of Sabrina as a companion series to Riverdale for The CW before it moved to Netflix. The show centered on the famous teenage witch Sabrina Spellman as she came of age and battled dark forces in her hometown of Greendale. Its fourth and final set of episodes premiered on Netflix last month. However, Chilling Adventures star Kiernan Shipka still hopes to make an appearance on Riverdale in the future.

After four seasons with Archie Andrews and his pals as high schoolers, Riverdale will jump ahead seven years, beginning with the fourth episode of Season 5. After that, the show will introduce new characters like Veronica Lodge's jealous, controlling husband Chad Gekko. Erinn Westbrook will also join the series in Season 5 as Tabitha Tate, the business-savvy granddaughter of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe owner Terry "Pop" Tate.

Outside of the Archieverse, Aguirre-Sacasa is working on Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, a reboot of the original Pretty Little Liars series that's received a direct-to-series order from HBO Max. He was also recently developing a show about the Brides of Dracula for ABC, but the network decided to pass on it.

Riverdale stars K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge, Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle, Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz, Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper and Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate. The series returns for Season 5 on Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
