Riverdale star Lili Reinhart revealed the length of show's planned time jump when it returns for Season 5.

Reinhart, appearing Tuesday on The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, said, "Well, so, we're taking the first few episodes to finish Season 4, technically. And then, Season 5, we're actually doing, I believe, a seven-year time jump into the future. But we're not going to be teenagers anymore."

Reinhardt told Fallon that she is "psyched" about the time jump and that she thinks "it'll be nice to play an adult. But I also really appreciate that Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] our showrunner was like, 'Yeah, let's revamp.' We're not just stuck in high school for seven seasons."

Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper, noted that filming during Season 4 ended halfway into an episode, and that the cast and crew had two more left to do after that. They'll finish those when they resume, although she joked, "It'll be very easy to tell when was in March and when we filmed in September."

Riverdale stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Casey Cott, Vanessa Morgan, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols and Madchen Amick. The series returns for Season 5 in January 2021 on The CW.
