After enduring a serial killer and all-out turf war, the people of Riverdale are looking for a degree of normalcy.

The first trailer for Season 3 of Riverdale has premiered showing Archie and friends try to embrace happier times before the town's inherent darkness catches up to them once again. After a brief recap of the dark, bloody second season, Archie and his dad have fixed up a classic jalopy first associated with the character during his debut in 1941.

"After the worst summer ever, I want us to have a normal Labor Day weekend," remarks Archie to his friends before taking them on a joyride in his iconic car. While the two couples certainly have earned a brief respite from the drama and sinister backdoor dealings, the getaway looks to be temporary.

The upcoming third season will see Archie face a new antagonist with a district attorney attempting to convict Archie after he was framed for murder last season while the new clip teases a cult arriving in town.

Even though Jason Blossom's murder has been solved and the Black Hood has been arrested, Archie Andrews can never catch a break.
