The Sugar Man is coming to The CW's Riverdale. On Twitter, series creator Roberta Aguirre-Sacasa shared a creepy crayon drawing of Cheryl and Jason Blossom that features a new character: the Sugar Man. Ominously, Aguirre-Sacasa warns fans to lock their doors because "the Sugar Man is coming." Going by the Sugar Man's grimace in this picture, it's a warning that should be heeded.RELATED: Riverdale Casts Veronica's Bad-Boy Ex

Sugar Man doesn't appear to be based on any particular character in Archie Comics lore just yet, though that could change following his appearance on the show. As it stands, the illustration appears to be influenced by the Slender Man meme with a dash of Freddy Krueger -- in short, exactly the sort of urban legend monster you'd expect to haunt an area like Riverdale.

The character's apparent connection to the Blossom Twins is certainly interesting, and indices that though dead, Jason's story is far from over. Assuming the character does take its cue from the monsters it appears to be based on, as we learn about Sugar Man, we'll almost certainly gain additional insight into the Blossom twins' childhood, and therefore into Cheryl's current state of mind.

Returning October 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Riverdale stars K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy and Casey Cott as Kevin Keller.
