The CW’s “Riverdale” has been renewed for a second season, Variety reports.

A dark reimagining of the “Archie” comic book series, the show has dealt with the death of Jason Blossom and the mystery surrounding his demise over the course of its first season. The show has found moderate success, averaging 1.16 million weekly viewers and a respectable 0.4 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic. When the first season concludes, the series will take to streaming with force, as The CW has a deal with Netflix that effectively guarantees full seasons of its shows will debut on the service a week after their conclusion.
