Photos from the Riverdale Season 5 premiere show Archie Andrews going from the boxing ring to the school's prom.
Titled "Chapter Seventy-Seven: Climax," the Riverdale Season 5 premiere will see Archie participate in a boxing exhibition against a fighter named KO Kelly (guest star Zane Holtz) in the hopes of impressing a visiting Naval Academy Commandment. The photos show Archie stepping into the squared circle to duke it out with KO while Tom Keller coaches him from the side.
The Riverdale Season 5 premiere will also focus on Archie and his pals getting ready for their senior prom at Riverdale High School. These photos show Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead all dressed up for the occasion, along with characters like Toni Topaz and Reggie Mantle. However, one of the images indicates Betty will stumble upon something sinister during the big school dance. It may be related to her and Jughead's investigation of the "auteur" leaving disturbing videotapes around Riverdale, which will lead them to "a secret underground for red-band screenings."
In addition, the episode will see Cheryl uncover a "major secret" that Toni has been hiding from her. Vanessa Morgan recently confirmed that her real-life pregnancy will be incorporated into Toni's storyline in Riverdale Season 5. For now, though, it's unclear if this will happen before or after the seven-year time jump that will take place a few episodes into this new season.
