The parents of Riverdale are a complicated, difficult bunch, composed of everything from fathers of the year and tiger mommas to gangsters and sociopaths. Now, one of those parents will be portrayed by his very own son in a flashback episode.

Mark Consuelos announced his 21-year-old son Michael will be playing a younger version of his character, Hiram Lodge, in Season 3.

Fans of the show have constantly fantasized about life before the Gang, and dreamed about prequels nobody assumed would ever happen. How in love was Falice back in their glory years? Were Hiram Lodge and Hal Cooper already full-blown psychopaths as teenagers? Was Sierra McCoy a former student council president at Riverdale High? Whatever happened to Hermione Lodge and Fred Andrews in the past? These are burning questions fans wrestle with every day, but answers may be on the way.

This year's Comic-Con International in San Diego revealed there will be a flashback episode for the parents of Riverdale in Season 3, where headliners KJ Apa and Lili Reinhart will be playing the adolescent versions of their onscreen parents. Fred Andrews and Alice Cooper are currently being portrayed by 90210 alum Luke Perry and Twin Peaks star Mädchen Amick. There hasn't been any word on who will be portraying the other grownups.

Based on conversations between and about Riverdale's parents, Hiram Lodge didn't get along with the other characters as a teenager. He constantly clashed with Fred Andrews over wife Hermione's affections, and Clifford Blossom was his business rival. In general, Hiram was the arrogant, distant, manipulative member of the school wrestling team, and wasn't particularly well-liked even then.
