Riverdale star Luke Perry has been hospitalized after reportedly suffering a stroke on Wednesday. The actor is 52.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at an address believed to be Perry's residence. One person was transported to the hospital. Arnold Robinson, Perry's rep, later confirmed the actor "is currently under observation at the hospital."

Perry has starred in The CW's Archie Comics adaptation Riverdale as Archie's beloved father Fred Andrews since the series premiere. Since his wife Mary (Molly Ringwald) left to pursue a career in Chicago, Fred has acted as his son's sole guardian, guiding him through the trials and tribulations of life in the not-so-peppy town.

Perry is perhaps best known for his role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. His long list of past credits includes The Fifth Element, Body of Proof and Oz, among many others. He also voiced Rick Jones in 1996's The Incredible Hulk animated series as well as Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm.

Airing Wednesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Riverdale stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Miller, Casey Cott, Mark Consuelos, Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick and Luke Perry.
