Riverdale's Lili Reinhart Takes Key Role in YA Adaptation Our Chemical Hearts

Lili Reinhart has won over some fans hearts with her role as Betty Cooper in The CW series Riverdale. Now, she's taking her talents to Amazon Studios' adaptation of the young adult novel Our Chemical Hearts, by Krystal Sutherland.

Titled Chemical Hearts, the movie will air on Amazon Prime Video as an exclusive original. Reinhart will play Grace Town, a transfer student and primary love interest of Henry Page. Reinhart will also executive produce. Deadline reports Richard Tanne will write and direct. Tanne previously worked on 2016's Southside With You, which premiered at that year's Sundance Film Festival and told the story of the first date between Barack and Michelle Obama. In Chemical Hearts, 17-year-old Henry Page has never been in love. He fancies himself a romantic, but the once in a lifetime kind of love that he’s been hoping for just hasn’t been in the cards for him—at least not yet. Instead, he’s been happy to focus all of his attention on finally becoming the editor of his high school newspaper. Then, on the first day of senior year, he meets transfer student Grace Town (Reinhart) and knows everything’s about to change.

Reinhart has won several Teen Choice Awards for playing Betty Cooper in Riverdale. On top of Our Chemical Hearts, Reinhart will also star in the movie Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu.
