Riverdale star KJ Apa has played Archie Andrews since 2017. The actor has revealed that his popularity as the character has come with its fair share of odd experiences and revelations.

In an interview with Interview Magazine, Apa explained that fans often seem to struggle differentiating between the character they see on television and the person they encounter in real life. "I try and look at it from a fan's perspective to understand the way they think. But there are times when I'm like, 'Wow, they really have no idea that we are actual people,'" he stated.

He then compared his profession to others, adding, "You don't have that in other professions. You don't dissect the life of a builder and start judging the decisions he makes in his life with his wife and kids," concluding, "As an actor, I will be judged on everything: my political opinions, my opinions on drugs, my opinions on the people I want to be with. Everything. It's something I've had to come to terms with."

Riverdale stars K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge, Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle, Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz, Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper and Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate.
