Riverdale spinoff series Katy Keene has cast two more lead roles for its pilot episode.

Jonny Beauchamp (Penny Dreadful) and Julia Chan (Saving Hope) have both been cast for the series, which is expected to take some time after the events of Riverdale in New York City. Beauchamp will portray Jorge/Ginger Lopez, a young man who works at his family's bodega by day and performs as his drag queen persona by night with dreams of Broadway. Chan plays Pepper Smith, a trendy young woman hoping to own her own nightclub even as she hides her own insecurities and secrets.

The actors join Riverdale cast member Ashleigh Murray, who reprises her role as Josie and the Pussycats frontwoman Josie McCoy, as four young adults pursuing their respective dreams in New York. The titular character, rounding out the planned quartet, has yet to be cast.

Katy Keene is created by Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as an executive producer and co-writer of the pilot with Michael Grassi. Maggie Kiley (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) has signed on to direct the pilot.
