Earlier this week, Marvel Studios teased the resurgence of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" with a teaser poster for the sequel. Continuing Marvel's ramp-up to Comic-Con International 2013, EW.com has posted an image by longtime Marvel concept artist Ryan Meinerding for the "Captain America" sequel featuring the Star-Spangled Avenger and the Winter Soldier locked in combat.

The timing of the image's release matches EW's reveal of Meinerding's "Iron Man 3" concept art in 2012, which teased the possibility of Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's "Extremis" storyline in the threequel. While the piece for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" might not tease a specific storyline, there are certainly a number of interesting tidbits beyond the centerpiece battle, such as the explosions and odd aircraft engaging in combat. It's likely more detail will come to light during Marvel Studios' presence at CCI 2013.

Check out Meinerding's piece below.

Directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" stars Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola),Frank Grillo (Crossbones), Max Hernandez (Agent Jasper Sitwell) and Robert Redford (Alexander Pierce). The film opens April 4, 2014.
