PBS will make the Ridley Scott-produced Civil War hospital drama part of its 2016 Sunday night schedule, Deadline reports.

Written by ER veteran David Zabel, the untitled series will follow the true stories of two volunteer nurses, one a New England abolitionist and the other a Southern belle, serving in a Union hospital in Alexandria, Georgia, the longest occupied Confederate city of the war. The long-gestating project has been given an initial six-episode order.

Scott's project will be among the eight to 10 new PBS programming specials in co-production with BBC and BBC Worldwide.
