The worlds of Rick & Morty and Breaking Bad couldn't be more different, yet the animated series creator holds the AMC series' creator in high enough regard to potentially give him the reigns of an episode.

During an interview with MSNBC, Rick & Morty creator Dan Harmon was asked during a "lightning round" of questions about who he would give creative control of an episode to. Without hesitation, Harmon replied "Vince Gilligan." Gilligan is well known for creating Breaking Bad and its spinoff series, Better Call Saul for AMC. He also wrote for The X-Files and developed its spinoff series The Lone Gunmen; Harmon also mentioned that The X-Files was his favorite TV show in terms of execution during the round.

Rick & Morty recently released a trailer for its fifth season, hinting at even more chaos to come for the Smith family. Mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his neurotic grandson Morty (voiced by series co-creator Justin Roiland) head out into the depths of space along with the rest of their family. The Season 5 trailer even teased a fight between a Kaiju and a giant Voltron-styled mecha piloted by the Smith family. Harmon also revealed that even more seasons of Rick & Morty were in the works at last year's Adult Swim Festival. "I think we're working on Season 7 right now, I can't even keep track," he said. "I wouldn't know if I were spoiling Season 5 or Season 6."

Rick and Morty stars the voices of Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammar and Sarah Chalke. Seasons 1-4 of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty are available to stream on Hulu and HBO Max. Season 5 premieres Sunday, June 20 at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.
