The premiere date for the third season of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has been announced, but a premiere date is nothing without a good and frequently befuddling trailer to go along with it – or maybe that’s just specific to Rick and Morty. Regardless, there is now a trailer for the third season of Rick and Morty that is both good and frequently befuddling.

The trailer and premiere date announcement come after series creator Dan Harmon has been teasing news about the long-awaited third season. The trailer sees the duo travel to multiple alien locales, one of which appears to be inspired by the movie Mad Max: Fury Road, and runs for roughly a minute-and-a-half.

Rick and Morty follows the time-traveling exploits of Morty Smith and his grandfather Rick Sanchez as they hop between different time periods and sometimes solve problems, but often create more. The series was developed by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, beginning life as a short film parodying Back to the Future that first screened at the Channel 101 film festival. The series premiered on Cartoon Network on December 2, 2013.

The third season premiere episode of Rick and Morty will air on Sunday, July 30 at 11:30 PM ET/PT on Cartoon Network. The season will run for 10 episodes.
