Adult Swim dropped an Alien: Covenant promo earlier today showcasing its raunchy ne'er-do-wells Rick and Morty responding to a familiar distress beacon. Reluctantly investigating the source of the signal, a derelict spaceship, the pair quickly come face-to-face with one of the parasites made famous in Ridley Scott's Alien. The two soon discover that all Sigourney Weaver's Ripley really needed the entire time was a raging case of alcoholism:

"It died of toxicity due to all the drugs and alcohol swirling about in my system," Rick explains to his horrified grandson. "Somebody get a memo to all the characters in those Alien movies, stat."

The popular animated show premiered the first episode of its third season back on April Fool's Day, with the rest slated to air sometime later this summer. Alien fans have less time to wait, with Ridley Scott's newest entry in the franchise slated for release next week on May 19.
