Longtime professional wrestler and WWE Hall of Fame inductee Ric Flair is reportedly recovering from a recent health scare.

According to Flair's wife, Wendy Barlow, the wrestler is currently in recovery from a successful surgery after being taken to a hospital in Atlanta last week for an unspecified medical emergency.

"Doctors said the procedure was a success," declared Barlow in an interview with TMZ without specifying what the surgery actually was."The Nature Boy" recently turned 70, and TMZ also reported that he would not be attending the Roast of Ric Flair, which was set to take place in Las Vegas later this week.

Prior to his hospital admittance, Flair had reportedly experienced heart trouble while he had been placed into a medically induced coma in 2017 after his intestine ruptured.

Flair was a 16-time WWE World Champion before his eventual retirement in 2008 after his Wrestlemania XXIV match against Shawn Michaels. That year, Flair was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Triple H.

In addition to wrestling in the WWE, Flair also wrestled in rival organizations New World Alliance (NWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

In addition to his own accomplishments, Flair's daughter Charlotte is a prolific wrestling in the WWE's Women's Division, winning several championship titles herself.
