DC's '90s Rewind variant cover series is doubling down on the radical nostalgia with embossed foil covers set to accompany certain titles shipping this fall.
These foil and multi-level emboss variant covers will appear on five DC titles set to hit shelves this November: Batman #129, The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #2, Batman Incorporated #2, WildC.A.T.s #1 (speaking of '90s nostalgia) and Justice Society of America #1. "DC celebrates a truly unforgettable decade all November with DC '90s Rewind open-to-order variant covers -- and we couldn't stop at just retro costumes, logos, and trade dress," the publisher explained. "It wouldn't be the '90s without era-appropriate cover treatments, and DC offers foil and multi-level emboss covers on five titles in November..."

DC announced its '90s Rewind variant cover series back in August. In total, the Distinguished Competition is set to put out 19 of these variants, which celebrate an era defined by anti-heroes, mullets, flannel, massive capes, Surge, nu-metal and so, so many pouches. In addition to the five comics carrying foil variants, other titles getting the '90s Rewind treatment include Action Comics #1049, Batman vs. Robin #3, Batman/Superman: World's Finest #9, Batgirls #12, Black Adam #6, Catwoman #49, Detective Comics #1066, Harley Quinn #24, I am Batman #15, Nightwing #98, Superman: Son of Kal-El #17, The Flash #788, Tim Drake: Robin #3 and Wonder Woman #793.
Of course, these variants aren't the only way DC is celebrating the '90s this November. The return of WildC.A.T.s is a blast from the past in and of itself. Meanwhile, the limited series Waller vs Wildstorm pits the leader of the Suicide Squad against the grittiest heroes of that bygone era. Finally, Batman/Spawn: War Devil #1 is getting its first reprint in decades ahead of the release of the new Batman/Spawn #1 in December.
