Kick-Ass 2 has recruited some new guest stars. Retired UFC champion Chuck Liddell has filmed a scene in the new film, and he was joined by professional MMA fighters like Jason Radcliffe, Fraser Opie and James Stones Hurrell.

Photos were tweeted of the fighter on set with actors and with some Liddell. Judging by the tweets, the scene seems to have been shot on Nov. 22.

Mark Millar tweeted his own explanation of how the scene fits into the Hit-Girl comic books he's putting out. "The scene in Kick-Ass 2 with Chuck Liddell is in next month's Hit-Girl #5 (tho I don't use Liddell in Red Mist's training sequence)," he posted earlier today. It sounds like Liddell is siding with the Motherfucker this time around.

Kick-Ass 2 picks up months after the 2010 action comedy, as Kick-Ass forms alliances with other local heroes and joins Justice Forever, which discovers the Red Mist — rechristened “Motherfucker” — is gathering his own group of villains.

Based on the Kick-Ass 2 miniseries and Hit-Girl spinoff by Millar and John Romita Jr., the superhero action-comedy stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jim Carrey, Yancy Butler, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Lindy Booth, Andy Nyman, Morris Chestnut and Robert Emms. It opens June 28, 2013.
