When Resident Evil Village was released on May 7, 2021, fans of the franchise were thrilled, and the new installment took the internet by storm. It is widely considered one of the best of the recent Resident Evil games, with some ranking it near the top of the franchise as a whole. In Resident Evil Village, players follow Ethan Winters as he travels to a horrific village to find his missing daughter Rose.

Among the things that made Resident Evil Village so popular was the addition of Lady Dimitrescu, one of the game's antagonists. The incredibly tall and intimidating figure is a member of the Dimitrescu noble family, who was (correctly) rumored to take part in mass murder and cannibalism. As Ethan visits Castle Dimitrescu for the first time, he finds out the hard way just how tough of a battle he is to face against her. After much anticipation, the latest update to The Mercenaries single-player finally allows players to play as the notorious mistress.

Unlocking Lady Dimitrescu Requires Players to S Rank a Mercenaries Level

To unlock Lady Dimitrescu, players must first gain access to Additional Orders, which can be done by purchasing the Winters' Expansion DLC and completing the game at least once. Next, players must achieve an S rank in the final Mercenaries level, called The Bloody River. Increasing from lowest to highest, the ranking system in the Mercenaries goes from C, B, A, S, SS, to finally SSS, so players must be ready to bring their A-game if they are to unlock her.

In The Bloody River, players must clear the area of 100 enemies before time runs out, ideally relying on combo hits to earn enough points to reach the S rank. Luckily, Time Orbs can be found in the area, which give the player more time to complete the challenge. Upon completing The Bloody River, players also receive the achievement "Rivers of Blood."

Lady Dimitrescu's Mercenaries Abilities Use Her Nails & Incredible Strength

While The Mercenaries challenges typically restrict players to only playing as humans, Additional Orders makes exceptions with Lady Dimitrescu and her counterpart, Heisenberg. As Lady Dimitrescu, players will find themselves much stronger than a regular human, which will undoubtedly make the challenges they face easier. Lady Dimitrescu also has some signature moves that make her worth the effort of unlocking her.

As she does in the game, Lady Dimitrescu wields wicked claws called the Lady's Nail, slashing through her opponents. Players can use the trigger buttons on their controllers to activate them. Additionally, the Lady can use her superhuman strength to slam down foes that get too close. And if those attacks weren't effective enough, players can also summon swarms of insects and throw Ornate Vanity, both of which act as ranged attacks. She can also summon her daughters to attack when the Thrill Gauge is full.

Lady Dimitrescu Is a Huge Target Compared to Other Characters in The Mercenaries

One of the downsides to playing as Lady Dimitrescu is that, since she is so much larger in stature than characters like Ethan, she is slower and a bigger target. Taking advantage of her unique abilities is the best way to go about taking out as many enemies as possible. For example, using ranged attacks when possible is a close equivalent to choosing the perfect gun when playing as human characters, and the Thrill Gauge's effects help to transfer some of the heat from the player to the summoned daughter.

Another tip for playing as Lady Dimitrescu is to upgrade her weapons in between rounds. This can be done by visiting Duke's shop. By upgrading her abilities and weapons, Lady Dimitrescu's stats increase, and so does her ability to take down enemies.
