As Resident Evil Village, the latest in the horror game franchise, approaches its May 7 launch, the overwhelming response to the character of Lady Dimitrescu has seen the game's Amazon listing overrun with explicit art.

Searching for the game on Amazon, many would find the various versions of the game rather hard to come by. Even when shoppers typed the game's official title into Amazon, the game itself is buried behind lists of other products, including a large amount explicit art and images, often related to the character of Lady Dimitrescu. In fact, anyone looking for the game would have more luck searching Resident Evil 8 over the official name.

The images that overran the search results for the game were not official releases by the game's developer Capcom. Rather, the images are a series of fan illustrations recreating the likeness of Lady Dimitrescu in a NSFW manner. However, Dimitrescu is not the only focus of the explicit images that appear when searching for the game. Likely due to the algorithm and related searches, shoppers began to see a variety of NSFW images, such as modeled photos of Milla Jovovich, who stars in the video game franchise's movie adaptations.

Countess Alcina Dimitrescu became something of an online phenomenon following her reveal in one of the early trailers for the game, rapidly becoming the focus of artists and cosplayers. Viewers observed that her height was extraordinary and seemed to dwarf the player character, leaving many to speculate how tall she really was. Recent gameplay clips showcase that the character will function in much the same way as Mr. X, a nemesis who hunts the player slowly as they explore, making it difficult for them to remain in one place for too long.

Although Dimitrescu has taken center stage in the online buzz around the next installment, it is unclear how much of the game she will actually occupy. The trailers have shown protagonist Ethan Winters will be encountering a variety of deadly creatures, including the daughters of Dimitrescu and werewolves, all of whom will lessen the chances of survival.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil Village will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia on May 7.
