A new trailer for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, the upcoming rerelease of Resident Evil Village, shows off all the new editions to the game's Mercenaries mode, including everyone's favorite very tall vampire woman, Lady Dimitrescu.

The trailer, uploaded on July 21, focuses on new content for Resident Evil Village's arcade shooter mode, Mercenaries. The new content is being released under the name Mercenaries: Additional Orders. Chief among these "additional orders" are three new playable characters: longstanding series protagonist and Resident Evil Village deuteragonist Chris Redfield, mad scientist Karl Heisenberg, and, of course, the much-beloved Lady Dimitrescu.

The trailer shows off the gameplay differences between the three new characters. Chris is equipped with all the heavy weaponry expected from a member of Resident Evil's zombie-blasting paramilitary organization, the BSAA. Meanwhile, Heisenberg is outfitted with a handful of impressive makeshift weapons, like a wrist-mounted buzzsaw. Dimitrescu, on the other hand, throws an entire vanity at a horde of enemies.

In addition to the footage in the trailer, Capcom dropped some more details about the gameplay in Mercenaries: Additional Orders in a press release. Chris will apparently be able to build up an "Onslaught guage" by unleashing melee attacks. When full, the guage will allow him to move and reload more quickly. Chris will also be able to call in support strikes from his fellow BSAA members. Heisenberg will have similar support from his lovingly hand-crafted horrifying robot zombie slaves. Lady Dimitrescu will build up a "Thrill meter," similar to Chris's Onslaught guage, which will allow her to perform her own special moves.

In addition to the new characters shown off in the Mercenaries trailer, audiences can also catch a glimpse at the other new additions coming to Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. While Mercenaries doesn't contain very much significant story content, the new mini-campaign Shadows of Rose will tell the story of Village's aftermath, focusing on protagonist Ethan Winters' daughter Rose. Ethan will see some new content of his own in the form of the new third-person mode, which will allow players to go through the entirety of Resident Evil Village's story from a new perspective.

Resident Evil Village is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will release on all of those platforms on October 28. Owners of Resident Evil Village will be able to upgrade via the Winters' Expansion DLC.
