WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Resident Evil Village, available now.

The one character in Resident Evil Village that has gotten gamers collectively fawning over her is Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, a vampire and one of the four House Lords overseeing the village and eventually confronting protagonist Ethan Winters. Reigning over her domain and leading a coven of vampire daughters in the aptly named Castle Dimitrescu, the lady hunts Ethan around her home, sporting a set of long claws, capable of cutting through virtually anything with ease, before unveiling her true form.

With Lady Dimitrescu following in the tradition of Resident Evil's previous, fan-favorite stalkers that menacingly hunt players in confined spaces with unrelenting fury, here's how the towering vampire compares to Resident Evil 2's Mr. X and Resident Evil 3's Nemesis.

Resident Evil: Why Is Lady Dimitrescu Stronger Than Mr. X?

Games Resident Evil 2 Remake Mr X

The T-00 is a genetically designed creature designed by the Umbrella Corporation as part of its Tyrant series of living bioweapons. Capable of withstanding a whole hail of small arms fire and light explosives, the T-00 -- dubbed Mr. X by fans -- was tasked by Umbrella with eliminating any survivors at the Raccoon City police headquarters and locate the pendant worn by Sherry Birkin containing the G-Virus. This led Mr. X on a collision course with Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, as he pursued them through the halls of the police station.

While Mr. X can absorb plenty of gunfire head-on, he will falter and be incapacitated momentarily if he endures too much gunfire in a short amount of time. Comparatively, Dimitrescu shrugs off most gunfire, with even a perfectly aimed sniper rifle round to the head simply pushing her head back before she readjusts her hat and continues hunting Ethan.

For Dimitrescu, gunfire is more of an annoyance than a visibly painful injury. Ultimately, Mr. X would be either eviscerated by the mutated William Birkin in Claire's story while Leon would destroy the creature in his adventure with a well-placed rocket, even after Mr. X reached his final form.

Resident Evil: Why Is Lady Dimitrescu Stronger Than Nemesis?

The Nemesis T-Type was an even more advanced model in the Tyrant series than Mr. X, programmed by Umbrella to specifically hunt down and kill any surviving S.T.A.R.S. operatives remaining in Raccoon City. Attacking Jill Valentine in her own apartment, Nemesis pursues her across the city as it descends into a zombie apocalypse, touching down at a moment's notice to resume his twisted hunt. More resistant to small arms and explosives than his predecessor, Nemesis is visibly smarter, able to use tools and weapons to assist him in the pursuit.

Nemesis is incapacitated during several scripted fights over the course of Resident Evil 3 and is able to be slowed down by gunfire and light explosives as he stalks Jill. Like Dimitrescu, Nemesis has a mutated form that takes up an entire room in Umbrella before he is ultimately destroyed by Jill using an experimental rail gun.

While Nemesis could certainly give Dimitrescu a run for her money in this form, Dimitrescu's own mutated form makes her significantly more mobile, able to fly and lunge while Nemesis remains moribund in a single location. And with Dimitrescu able to summon swarms of bugs to eat her opponents alive, Nemesis would be a helpless buffet to her bloodthirsty legions.

Able to shrug off a point-blank shotgun blast to the face without so much as a second thought, Dimistrecu is the ultimate, relentless stalker in the Resident Evil franchise, outclassing the Tyrants in endurance and strength. Though her mutated form possesses a prominent weak spot, her range of attacks and superior mobility and speed makes her more formidable than the Tyrants that Umbrella unleashed on Raccoon City.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil Village is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
