Casting details for the Resident Evil reboot has surfaced, confirming that several characters from the video game will be appearing.

Daniel Richtman posted the information to his Patreon, alongside attached talent and crew. The leads of the film are Chris Redford and his sister Claire; Chris is described as "wholesome and handsome" and serves as a Raccoon City police officer, while Claire returns to her old home to convince him to leave.

The two grew up in an orphanage where other children would mysteriously disappear. When Raccoon City is overrun by zombies, Claire and Chris learn that many of their fellow orphans were experimented on at the Umbrella Corporation. Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) and Brenton Thwaites (Titans) are being approached for Claire and Chris respectively.

Other characters for the film include Leon Kennedy, who is a fellow cop that joins Chris and Claire in fighting the Raccoon City infestation; Dr. William Birkin, a scientist who worked for Umbrella; Albert Wesker, another cop who is killed while looking to steal confidential information from Umbrella; Jill Valentine, an officer who ends up fighting the infestation; and Ada Wong, who infects Wesker and brings him back to life after he is killed by the zombies.

The Resident Evil reboot will be distributed by Sony Pictures through their Screen Gems banner, and is currently being written by Tony Giglio and directed by Johannes Roberts. Filming locations include Canada and Serbia. Sony and Screen Gems had previously released six Resident Evil films, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and featuring Milla Jovovich.
