Capcom has released a new trailer for its upcoming HD remake of Resident Evil 3, providing a more immersive look at Raccoon City and the monsters within.

With the original game's added emphasis on action over its predecessors on full display, the trailer shows S.T.A.R.S. officer Jill Valentine teaming up with a visibly more rugged Carlos Olivera to escape from the city as it's overwhelmed by armies of the undead. As the duo navigates the zombie-infested streets and buildings, Jill is confronted by the monstrous Nemesis, a hulking bioweapon who upgrades itself and adapts as the game progresses.

Speculation of Capcom remaking 1999's Resident Evil 3: Nemesis first arose with the release of an HD remake of Resident Evil 2 in 2019. Following its success, the Resident Evil 3 remake was officially announced in December for release this spring.

Like the Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 will be reconfigured to include more traditional third-person gameplay than the original game. It will also include an online multiplayer mode, named Resident Evil: Resistance, allowing teams of four players to face a mastermind devising traps for the teams to face.
