Syfy kicked off the year with the successful launch of its new comedy series Resident Alien, with the network sharing a gag reel and a deleted scene as the show nears its Season 1 finale.

A blooper reel running for nearly five minutes has the cast good-naturedly flub lines, struggling to keep a straight face at some of the more tongue-twisting and ridiculous dialogue. In one diner scene, actor Corey Reynolds struggles eating breakfast while filming a take and, in a montage of clips, actor Alan Tudyk is unable to properly make a basket, requiring multiple takes to sink a shot.

Syfy has also released a deleted scene from Episode 7, titled "The Green Glow," with disguised alien Harry Vanderspiegle having to contend with the fact that he is no longer the town's local doctor, losing his reserved parking space to his replacement.

Resident Alien is based off of the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. Premiering on Syfy this past January, the network recently renewed the series for a second season in March, with the show becoming the high-rated new series for the network in the past six years.

Starring Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund and Levi Fiehler, Resident Alien airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.
