WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 1, Episode 5, "Come and Get Your Love" of Reservation Dogs, now streaming on FX on Hulu.

FX has announced that it's renewed its hit new comedy series Reservation Dogs for a second season.

"We couldn't wait to share Reservation Dogs with viewers and are thrilled that they seem to love it as much as we do. We're happy to put in an early order for another season," said Nick Grad, President of Original Programming at the network. "Sterlin Harjo delivered on his creative vision, partnering with Taika Waititi and the rest of the creative team, the brilliant cast and crew to create one of TV's best new comedies and a groundbreaking showcase of representation and raw talent."

Written by Harjo, Waititi and Bobby Wilson, Season 1 of Reservation Dogs centers on four Indigenous teenagers living in rural Oklahoma, where they steal and rob in an attempt to save money for their dream journey to California. In addition to paying homage to Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs in its title, the latest episode of Reservation Dogs ("Come and Get Your Love") featured a funny nod to Beverly Hills Cop via a cheesy-synth theme song that played in a scene involving Big's aging patrol car.

While Waititi doesn't appear in Reservation Dogs, he recently took a step back from acting for small role in both The Suicide Squad and Free Guy. Speaking about his return to acting in a recent interview, Waititi explained, "I was a little burned out, and I wanted to do something a lot easier than directing, which is acting!" The director and actor further described his Free Guy character as a "douchey tech-bro villain" character.

Alongside receiving praise from critics, the first season currently holds a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has earned Universal Acclaim on Metacritic. The second season of Reservation Dogs is expected to premiere in 2022, exclusively on FX on Hulu.

Created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, Reservation Dogs drops new episodes every Monday on FX on Hulu.
