As DC Universe's Stargirl continues adding characters from across the comics, a new report may reveal who will play Artemis Crock on the show.
According to Full Circle Cinema, Stella Smith -- who was previously cast in the show -- will play Artemis in an arc spanning multiple episodes. According to IMDb, Smith is set to appear in 5 episodes of the series, indicating she's not playing a particularly minor role or one-off character. Smith herself is a relatively unknown actor, and Stargirl represents the most major role for her yet. She starred in both Doritos: The Fundraiser shorts in 2014 and played a young Madison McFall on Dekiru: The Three Stones in 2017. At this time, it's unclear if she'll actually end up playing Artemis, as this report has not been confirmed by DC Universe or the Stargirl production.
Created by Roy Thomas and Todd McFarlane, Artemis first appeared in 1987's Infinity, Inc #34. The daughter of villain Sportsmaster, who is also reportedly appearing in Stargirl, Artemis has been both a superhero and villain, having taken on the mantle of Tigress in the past. She's an expert marksman, making use of arrows and other such implements. She appeared on Arrow, where she was played by Madison McLaughlin, and Young Justice. It's unclear if she'll be a hero or villain in Stargirl.
Arriving in 2020, DC Universe's Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl), Joel McHale as Sylvester Pemberton (Starman), Brian Stapf as Ted Grant (Wildcat), Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Rex Tyler (Hourman) and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal and Christopher James Baker as undisclosed DC characters.
