Following a rumor from last week, Collider reports that "Doctor Who" alum Gugu Mbatha-Raw is in talks to join "Star Wars: Episode VIII."

There, of course, are no details about the role. The website notes that while it's possible negotiations with Lucasfilm could break down, "we feel confident in our reporting." Mbatha-Raw's name didn't appear on the purported shortlist for a lead role that surfaced early last month.

First drawing attention for her role as Martha Jones' sister Tish on "Doctor Who," Mbatha-Raw starred on the television series "Undercovers," and appeared in "Beyond the Lights," "Belle" and "Jupiter Ascending." She'll next be seen opposite Will Smith in the sports drama "Concussion." She also co-stars in Disney's new live-action/CGI adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast."

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" arrives May 26, 2017.
