The upcoming Star Wars spinoff series Andor has reportedly finished filming and is on track to hit Disney+ in 2022.

Bespin Bulletin, an insider site known for leaking early announcements on all things Star Wars, reports that filming has wrapped on Andor, the upcoming series starring Diego Luna as the eponymous Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. After numerous production delays, the series began filming in November of 2020 at Pinewood Studios in London. According to the insider site, sources from Pinewood have disclosed that shooting has finally wrapped.

Although Disney originally announced in 2018 that a Cassian Andor series was in the works, the series' production took some time to get off the ground. A shuffle of behind-the-camera talent pushed the series' filming schedule from 2019 to 2020. Pre-production began in March for a planned June 2020 shoot, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic then pushed the series even further back to November. Since then, the enduring pandemic and an onslaught of brutal weather in the U.K. have caused the shoot to drag long. Reportedly, though, filming has finally concluded, with the cast and crew celebrating with wrap parties.

Disney has yet to announce an official release date for Andor, but executives indicated at 2020's Disney Investor Day the series is scheduled to release sometime next year. Andor will consist of 12 episodes, with the series being described as "a rousing spy thriller."

Andor will serve as a prequel to 2016's Rogue One, which saw the spy join forces with a ragtag team of rebels on a suicide mission to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. In the movie, Cassian remarks he has been fighting for the Galactic Rebellion since he was six years old, and since then, he has gotten his hands dirty for his cause. Andor aims to tell this story, with the bulk of the series taking place five years before the events of the film.

Disney previously confirmed returning Rogue One characters would include the droid K-2SO as portrayed by Alan Tudyk, though Tudyk himself has seemingly debunked this. However, Luna's Andor co-star Stellan Skarsgård did reveal Forest Whitaker would return as Saw Gerrera. Genevieve O'Reilly will also reprise her role as Mon Mothma from both Rogue One and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. In addition, recent reports have indicated Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic and Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi are set to appear in the series as well.
