The upcoming fifth season of Netflix's Lucifer may not be the Vertigo Comics-based series' last after all.

According to a new report from TVLine, Netflix is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Television to keep Lucifer going beyond Season 5. That being said, neither Netflix nor Warner Bros. have released an official statement regarding Lucifer Season 6 at this time.

Based on the DC/Vertigo character of the same name created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, Lucifer first premiered on Fox in early 2016, initially running for three seasons before being canceled by the network. The supernatural drama was then revived by Netflix, with Season 4 premiering on the streaming giant in its entirety last year. The series was then renewed for a fifth and "final" season, which is slated to arrive on Netflix this year and will be split into two parts. Should the new report of a prospective sixth season prove true, however, it appears the Devil and company may be sticking around a bit longer.

Helmed by Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, Lucifer Season 4 stars Tom Ellis as the Devil, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. Season 5 is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2020.
