A new report surfaced showing that two series regulars will be added to the upcoming Marvel Studios/Disney+ show, notably an older male antagonist for the show and a middle-aged woman, "who will share many scenes with Nick Fury," according to The Illuminerdi.

Secret Invasion was announced as an upcoming series during Disney's Investor Day 2020. Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige previously stated that the intergalactic project was a perfect fit for a television series.

"We're interested in the political paranoia aspect of Secret Invasion and really showcasing the stars with Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, two amazing actors that you want to have in any series, and we're very lucky to have them," Feige said.

Released between 2008 and 2009, Secret Invasion is a comic book crossover by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales and Laura Martin. The series, which spanned several titles, saw the Skrulls acting on a long-term plan to invade Earth by replacing many of the planet's most powerful and recognizable superheroes.

Secret Invasion does not currently have a release date for its premiere on Disney+. Following the finale of WandaVision, the next Marvel Studios series to debut on Disney+ will be the highly anticipated The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series premieres March 19 on Disney+.
