Another Valkyrie may be on the way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to MCU Cosmic, Marvel Studios will introduce Mist in an upcoming film. Since she is a Valkyrie, Thor: Love and Thunder or Loki seem like an obvious places for her debut, but there has been no confirmation of where she will show up at this time.

Introduced in 1985's New Mutants Special Edition #1 by Chris Claremont, Arthur Adams and Terry Austin, Mist forged a strong bond with the New Mutants' Moonstar as soon as they met. She stumbled into Moonstar as the mutant defended Brightstar, a winged horse, from some attackers. As a result, Brightstar chose Moonstar as her champion, and Mist invited Moonstar to join her "sisters" -- the Valkyries. During this period, Mist insisted Moonstar deserved a place in their ranks despite her Midgardian origin, with the two becoming fast friends.

In the MCU, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie believes she is the only one left. As she explained to Thor in Thor: Ragnarok, her sisters were decimated when Odin charged them with stopped Hela. Valkyrie was the only survivor -- or so she thinks, if this report turns out to be true.

Notably, Valkyrie is slated to get a love interest in Love and Thunder. If Mist is indeed introduced in the film, perhaps she will be a candidate for Valkyrie's queen.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5, 2021.
