Last year, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke revealed that ABC was in talks with Marvel to produce a show about a "mostly brand new" female superhero. While ABC is no longer the home of Marvel TV properties, we may now know which character was being looked at: Elsa Bloodstone.

According to MCU Cosmic, the series was to be based on monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone, who made her first comic book appearance in a 2001 solo limited series. While she is a lesser known character, she has been rising in popularity lately, with Marvel adding her to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, as well as other video games like Marvel Contest of Champions and Marvel Strike Force.

While her ABC series will no longer be happening, this does not mean we won't be seeing her on screen soon. Marvel Studios (who is now in control of the company's television projects alongside its film division) has announced many new series based on lesser known, newer characters like Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, which means she could be considered once again for her own show.

Bloodstone, who's abilities include expert marksmanship, has crossed paths in the comics with characters like Captain Marvel and Blade-- both characters confirmed to exist in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bloodstone's inclusion would also add another headlining female hero to the universe and another character based in the supernatural side of the universe.
