Early rumors about the Loki Disney+ series indicated the show would take place at different points in human history, with the titular God of Mischief having some hand in the outcomes of important events. A new report seemingly confirms those rumors and adds some key details to them.

Citing "production sources," a report from MCU Cosmic claims those previous rumors are correct, but adds the Tesseract will play a role and that Loki will time travel and "change historical events." However, don't expect him to be helping change things for the better. Instead, the report indicates the God of Mischief will do what he does best and start messing things up.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously showed a concept art for the series at Walt Disney Company's Investors Day, which used a Jaws screening to tease a trip to 1975. At Comic-Con International in San Diego 2019, Feige revealed the Loki of the Disney+ series was the same one that stole the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. This means the series focuses on Loki prior to his redemption arc and while he's the still the villain who caused havoc in Thor and the first Avengers film.

The report also indicates that casting for Loki will start soon. Loki premieres spring 2021 on Disney+.
