Jeremy Conrad of MCU Cosmic then chimed in, tweeting that Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) and Taissa Farmiga (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) were recently rumored to be in the running for the role of the new Hawkeye. However, Conrad admits, "No idea if either of those ended up being Kate Bishop or if they went with someone else."

Created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, Kate Bishop/Hawkeye first appeared in 2005's Young Avengers #1. The character was previously revealed to have a role in the Hawkeye Disney+ series, in which Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Clint Barton. It is said the series will involve Clint passing the torch. The series has no official release date, though it is expected to arrive sometime after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision.
