A movie based on the popular Funko figurines may be in the works from Warner Bros., according to a new report.
The report comes from writer and frequent leaker DanielRPK, who tweeted an image on Twitter that indicates a Funko movie is in development. The picture is of a board. In the top left corner is a sheet bearing the Funko logo. According to a later tweet, the dates at the top of the board are indicative of when production on the various projects will begin. As such, the Funko movie would, if this board is correct, go into production sometime this year.

In another tweet, DanielRPK listed some of the movie's characters, writing, "Some characters already confirmed for the Funko movie: Darth Vader, Deadpool, Hellboy, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Care Bears, My Little Pony... Also Hello Kitty."
Something curious about this report is that the cast of the film seems to include characters currently owned by a number of different companies, including Disney, Fox and Warner Bros.. Funko does have licensing deals with pretty much every major media company, but it's not totally clear if those rights extend to animated films based off of its figurines.
It will be interesting to see if this rumor does prove true and what a finished Funko film could look like. Warner Bros. released the immensely popular Lego Movie in 2014, and that film proved enough of a success to spawn an upcoming sequel. It's entirely possible that the studio is looking to capitalize on another popular toy line.
