The Highlander remake apparently has its villain, and he's one formidable foe. According to Latino Review, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista will play The Kurgan in the Summit Entertainment film.

In 1986 original, Connor MacLeod faces the evil Kurgan to see who will be the immortal left standing (there can be only one, after all). Clancy Brown played the villain opposite Christopher Lambert the first time around. Visual effects supervisor turned director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who's also working on the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, is set to helm the remake.

Bautista parlayed his physique and popularity in the WWE into a film career that includes The Man with the Iron Fists and Riddick, but his turn as Drax in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has propelled him to another level. Bautista will also appear as a henchman in the next James Bond film Spectre, the main villain in Kickboxer: Vengeance and alongside Mark Paul Gosselaar in the thriller Bus 657.

The Highlander remake still hasn't found it's Connor; Ryan Reynolds was once attached, but he walked away in 2013.
