According to The Sun, executive producer Barbara Broccoli is looking to offer Madden the role following Craig's departure. Madden reportedly impressed Broccoli with his performance in the BBC thriller Bodyguard and is "on top of Barbara’s list."
Madden is known for his role as Robb Stark on HBO's Game of Thrones, Prince Kit in 2015's live-action Cinderella and a number of other TV roles, including Medici: Masters of Florence and Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams. The report indicates that Madden hasn't been officially offered the role yet, so there's a possibility he might still decline or otherwise not get the role.
Although there was some speculation that the production would be looking to replace Craig with a person of color or woman, Broccoli recently shot down the possibility of the latter. Bond 25 is set to be Daniel Craig’s last performance in the iconic role, ending his five-movie run that began in 2007 with Casino Royale.
Directed by Cary Fukunaga, Bond 25 stars Daniel Craig. It is scheduled for release on Feb. 14, 2020.
