Rent-a-Girlfriend’s Plot

In Season 1 of Rent-a-Girlfriend, protagonist Kazuya Kinoshita uses a dating app to rent a girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara after his ex-girlfriend, Mami Nanami, breaks up with him. Unsurprisingly, Kazuya’s dating life soon gets complicated when he accidentally introduces Chizuru as his actual girlfriend to his grandmother, which results in the two putting up a fake couple facade in front of Kazuya’s friends and family.

Season 2 will likely see the connection between Kazuya and Chizuru continue to blossom as his genuine feelings for her grow stronger. However, Chizuru reveals a shocking truth that will affect their relationship. There will also be more appearances and storylines for minor but colorful characters like Ruka Sarashina and Sumi Sakurasawa. Ruka is a rental girlfriend from another company, but wants to date Kazuya seriously. Sumi is a newcomer rental girlfriend trying to make her way in the industry.
