Renee Montoya, also known as the second Question, is one of DC's most popular non-powered characters. She is also famous for sharing a romantic relationship with Batwoman, Kate Kane.

Despite that, Montoya will not be appearing in the CW's Batwoman series anytime in the near future. Warner Bros. has forbidden the show from using Montoya for now due to her upcoming movie debut in Birds of Prey.

"It's too early to tell with Renee. We're not allowed to use her because they're using her in a movie coming up," said Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries at a panel during Comic-Con International in San Diego. "Maybe when that movie comes and goes, they'll let us use her."

Montoya is slated to appear in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), where she will be portrayed by Rosie Perez. The 2020 film will be directed by Cathy Yan and star Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollet-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ella Jay Basco and Ewan McGregor alongside Perez.

Written by Caroline Dries and developed by Bertlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman stars Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Elizabeth Anweis and Nicole Kang. The series will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6 and air on Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT.
