Producer, writer and director Ronald D. Moore tried to get out of the sci-fi realm he's been working in since co-producing Star Trek: The Next Generation with a pilot called 17th Precinct. The magical crime drama was set up at NBC, reuniting Moore with his Battlestar Galactica stars Jamie Barber, James Callis and Tricia Helfer. Much like Grimm, which NBC greenlit, and ABC's Once Upon a Time, the series would have mixed supernatural elements with the usual cop-show tropes. Alas, it was not meant to be. However, fans of Moore can now watch the whole pilot online.

What do you think? Would you have watched 17th Precinct? Does it hit notes that Grimm and Once don't? Could the network have handled two shows so closely in the same vein?
