The Eisner-winning comic series, Bitter Root, is set in 1924, during the Harlem Renaissance. The ongoing comic series centers on a family of monster hunters who must reconnect to combat a powerful threat that is endangering all of New York City. The Sangeryes family has been monster hunters for generations and curing those who have been affected by a supernatural force -- one that feeds off of prejudice, turning humans into monsters. After a massive tragedy, the remaining Sangeryes must unite to battle a looming invasion.
