Aside from the Daryl-centric episode "Always Accountable," "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus hasn't had much to do this season. When the show returns, however, Daryl will be back with a vengeance -- and he'll be more aggressive and headstrong than ever.

"There's so much chaos happening in the second half," Reedus told Entertainment Weekly. "As far as Daryl is concerned, he is pissed off. He's had his stuff taken from him. He put himself out there and trusted some people, and it did backfire on him, and I think he comes back super pissed off. There's a lot of that element for me. I mean, I know you know the bad guys that are coming... There's definite surprises coming with all of that, and you know, it's battle time."

"I feel like there's a lot of vengeance happening in the second half, and a lot of payback on Daryl's mind. He's headstrong now, and he's kind of turning into the same sort of aggressive person he was in the first part of the show, going back to his roots. I think he would definitely be making Merle proud right now," he added.

"I think he didn't really fit in at Alexandria, and now that Alexandria is what it is, we're back out to the wild again," he explained. "He wanted to fit in, and he wanted to be part of this group, and he wanted to do the right thing, but he's still very hesitant about it, and I think now it's kind of like, 'See, I told you so,' type of situation, and he's definitely upset."

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" will return Sunday, February 14 at 9 pm EST on AMC.
