Marvel concept artist Rodney Fuentebella revealed an unused design for Red Skull on Instagram this week that almost appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame — though it looks more like it belongs in a Star Wars movie.

"Here is a take on Red Skull," Fuentebella said. "This is an initial concept of Red Skull or Soul Keeper as someone who has maybe met with various people in space and taking on their varied clothings." The villain's outfit is adorned with furs and a hood, which makes him look like he's straight out of the snowy planet of Hoth.

Fuentebella regularly shares images of concept art on his Instagram. He recently unveiled early concepts that were done for Black Panther, including advanced camouflage and tactical looks for the character Killmonger.

The Red Skull is a classic villain of Marvel's comics, first adapted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: The First Avenger and portrayed by Hugo Weaving. Although he was defeated at the end of the film, he returned in Avengers: Infinity War as the guardian of the Soul Stone, this time played by Ross Marquand.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
