Red Dead Redemption 2 only took eight days to outsell its predecessor, earning over $725 million over its opening weekend. This places it as the second most profitable game by developer Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive with the all-time record retained by Grand Theft Auto V which earned over $800 million worldwide on its first day of release and over $1 billion across its first three days upon its initial release in 2013. It's unclear at this time if the game will go on to outsell Grand Theft Auto V.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The public Red Dead Online beta testing will begin later this month.
