When the Red Dead Online community isn't dressing characters to look like clowns (to protest the lack of an update from developer Rockstar Games), players spend time making up new fun activities to engage in while waiting for the next update. One of these new activities is a brand new glitch that Red Dead Online players have been exploiting to hilarious results.

This new glitch is a special bridge that can launch players literally sky-high, free above the clouds where the birds don't worry about the next update to a live-service game. Although it is unclear who first discovered this new glitch, many players have been very excited to try it out. The Red Dead Online subreddit is awash with clips of players blasting themselves to oblivion, even competing on who can get the furthest. Some players even launched all the way to Mexico, a long-discussed area outside the normal map of Red Dead Redemption 2 that players continually wish was available as a DLC expansion.

The bridge itself is located near McFarlane's Ranch, west in the canyon area called Hennigan's Stead. In the canyon are two bridges, but the one that is the target is the southernmost bridge over the canyon. Players need to head there, but first, they need to be packing some throwing knives. Players need to throw knives into the third or fourth plank on the bridge. The process takes some experimentation because, like any good glitch, it's finicky.

However, with some persistence, players should be able to bounce high into the air, flying straight up into the sky hundreds of feet. Then after about 25-30 seconds, much like Wile E. Coyote often did in those famous Looney Tune episodes, the character will realize gravity is still in effect and plummet to the earth with hilarious results. Although most players die in the process, some have managed to survive the flight, landing in the aforementioned Mexico area.

Some players in the days after the discovery noted that the glitch was systematically being patched out by Rockstar. However, many players still claim that the PC version still included the bouncy bridge of doom a few days ago. Red Dead Online's massive open-world is a sight to behold, with Rockstar Games again nailing the look and feel of the cowboy era. Players should go check out the beauty of the map from thousands of feet above it, but keep in mind, it's a long way back down.
