With Channing Tatum officially on lock as the Ragin’ Cajun for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming “Gambit” solo film, the studio has begun its search for the movie’s female lead — with three actress already on the short list.
Deadline reports that Rebecca Ferguson, Lea Seydoux and Abbey Lee will all be testing next week for the film’s as-of-yet unnamed lead female role. Although, comic fans might guess the part to be for Remy LeBeau’s Louisiana beau Bella Donna.
Ferguson currently has a lot of buzz behind her for her stellar performance in “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” and both Seydoux and Lee have upcoming leading roles in “Spectre” and “Neon Demon,” respectively. Seydoux gained previous acclaim for starring in “Blue is the Warmest Color” while Lee was featured in this summer’s “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
“Gambit” stars Channing Tatum and arrives in theaters Oct. 7, 2016.
