It is certainly of no doubt in most, if not all, anime fans' mind that the acclaimed Wit Studio are some of the biggest names and heavy hitters in terms of the actual animation studios in the anime industry. The anime studio was founded back in the early parts of the last decade on June 1st, 2012. Not long after that, they made big names for themselves with their debut anime in 2013 adapted from Hajime Isayama's manga series known as the great Attack on Titan.

They took on a number of other projects in between, but their next biggest name was last year's Vinland Saga; a masterful seinen work that is surely more popular now thanks to the successful first season. Here are five reasons why Wit should focus on the final season of Attack on Titan and five why they should shift more to Vinland Saga.

10 Attack On Titan: It Came First, So It Deserves Priority

Perhaps the simplest and most frank reason for Wit Studio to focus on Attack on Titan now that it is approaching its final season later this year is that it came before--and was literally the studio's first project--last year's Vinland Saga and therefore has been entitled to have priority over the latter.

It could be seen as an insult to fans of Attack on Titan if they decided to divert attention away (at best) or completely abandon it (at worst) in favor of a newer project. This is especially so since Vinland Saga has not even been confirmed for a season two at the time of writing. However, as of now, Wit Studio has not been confirmed to be in charge of the fourth season.

9 Vinland Saga: The First Season Showed It Has Great Potential

Vinland Saga - The First Season

It can definitely be argued that while the Vinland Saga manga has always been of high quality and successful with its group of fans, it probably was not quite reaching the mainstream in the anime world. Perhaps this is because it's a seinen series.

However, the prologue of the story (while excellent) is just the early taste of the series and how much further it can go in the future from a story and character development perspective. Considering how well this first season went, it shows the story has great potential in anime form going forward.

Attack On Titan - It's More Popular Than Vinland Saga

Another quite blunt point in favor of Attack on Titan is the fact that it is just more popular of a series than Vinland Saga. The series, due to its heavy action, thriller, and mystery genre and overall story elements, was easily able to cast a wide net and grab a variety of people as fans.

This could also be due to the fact that it is more of a shonen, but a unique shonen. After all, the series is much more violently brutal and dark in tone, themes, and setting than the average shonen. Nevertheless, it is in part for these reasons that it is simply a more popular series.

7 Vinland Saga: There's Plenty Of Source Material To Adapt

This is definitely not to say that Attack on Titan is light on source material; meaning the manga. After all, Attack on Titan may be in the last stretch of the story, but it is still running and has been since all the way back on September 9th, 2009.

That being said, though, Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga started back on April 13th, 2005 and is still running. Only now is it reaching the beginning of its final story arc. Therefore, Vinland Saga has years worth of source material ripe for adapting for a long time to come.

6 Attack On Titan: With The Final Season On The Way, It's At Its Most Crucial State

As most people who are fans of and follow the anime industry know already, Attack on Titan has been confirmed for its final season with release later this year. To be a little more precise, it should be coming in during the fall season of 2020.

Therefore, the argument can be made that Attack on Titan is at its most crucial state. While this also depends on the the story beats of the final stretch of the manga, the anime adaptation also needs to be produced well in order to avoid a Game of Thrones season eight situation.

5 Vinland Saga: This Could Keep Wit Relevant For Years To Come

No company starts with the goal in mind of having one hit project and then fade into obscurity. They don't only want to be known as just the studio good for making Attack on Titan and nothing more. While it can be said that Wit Studio have already avoided this by at least the adaptation of the prologue of Vinland Saga, it would be a shame if they passed up continuing the story in anime form.

As a continuing series, Vinland Saga would keep the studio relevant for many years to come. The series as a whole is more popular now and thus has a growing fan base. This could keep their name up in lights for the foreseeable future.

4 Attack On Titan: Season 4 Is Ripe For The Taking

As mentioned already in an earlier entry, at the time of writing, Wit Studio has not been confirmed to be handling the fourth and final season of Attack on Titan. However, it has, at the very least, been confirmed to be happening and being scheduled for release during this fall season.

It remains to be seen as to how many chunks of episodes it will have, like season three had two chunks separated by a few months. As of now, the creators, whomever they may be, seem confident this fall will be the release, but it is ripe for the taking to be Wit's next big project.

3 Vinland Saga: Wit Studio's Next Big Thing

One reason why Wit Studio might want to divert at least some of their attention over to their more recent anime adaptation in Vinland Saga is because this could very well be their next big thing after Attack on Titan. This is also true if Wit does not take on season four in the end.

It could be smart, especially since Vinland Saga was of such high quality, for Wit to start thinking about the longevity of their studio and take on the next big commitment to take them into the future.

2 Attack On Titan: It Will Be Their Legacy

While their most recent endeavor in Vinland Saga proved to be more than successful and showed that Wit Studio can adapt more than one major series and popularize it on a world scale, Attack on Titan will most likely prove to forever be their legacy. This is whether they adapt season four themselves or not.

Because of this, they may as well take the reigns of the final season and adapt it to the best of their more than capable abilities. They would not want to stain their potential legacy by poorly adapting the series' finale.

1 Vinland Saga: This Could Be A Chance To Dominate The Seinen Demographic

As previously discussed in this list, Attack on Titan, while unique in its own right, is more so listed as a series targeting the shonen demographic. There is nothing wrong with that, of course. The shonen demographic is a ripe one with one of the biggest audiences and has had some of the most memorable series around.

However, Vinland Saga is more so a seinen series targeted at an older demographic. This could be a good chance for Wit to spread into this demographic and appeal to other generations of fans on top of their usual ones.
