Although there's been a of talk over the past four months about a potential "Agent Carter" television series, with actors Hayley Atwell and Dominic Cooper expressing interest in reprising their roles from Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger." However, there's been no public sign of movement -- until now.

Deadline reports that Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, creators of the former CW comedy "Reaper," have "quietly boarded" the project as writers and executive producers. It's part of their overall deal with ABC Studios, which produced "Reaper"; the two serve as showrunners of the upcoming ABC drama "Resurrection."

First rumored in September, "Agent Carter" is based on the Marvel One-Shot included as a bonus feature on the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray, which Peggy Carter (Atwell) in her post-"Captain America: The First Avenger" career with the Strategic Scientific Reserve.

"The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, 'We want more of Peggy!'" Atwell, who has a cameo in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," said in October. "I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it's certainly something I would be a part of doing. I'd be interested to show different sides of Peggy."

Update (12:15 p.m.): Deadline reports that although "Agent Carter" hasn't been officially announced, ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee said today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that "the script is great."

TheWrap adds that the pilot is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who penned "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
